It can happen if you Drop late as you are more likely to strafe the Sidearmor. This is fairly rare and usually only happens if you are Unlucky and Hit a really Thick Armored Part becaise AP Bombs do have quite high Penetrate. To this there is 4 Options of what can happen. Make your Bombs capable of Traveling through a certain amount of Armor and Explode after having covered a certain Distance. ![]() And especially the Armor Layers on the Decks are whats Relevant for you.īecause your AP Bombs have a Fuse and a Penetration. The thing that mostly matters is the Ship you Target.Įach Ship in this Game has an Armor Layout. With MvR you´d want to drop as soon as you cover most of the ship then but with GZ you´d want to wait to the end due to the heavy dive of the planes that themselves gather speed.Ĭan someone help me unravel this conundrum?įor the Specifics almost only WG themselves will likely be able to tell you.īecause the effects are way too Random as to Say for Certain by just Playertesting.Īs such I cant indulge you on how exactly the Mechanics behind it work. Sometimes I imagine that height or speed of the planes that drop them matters. I know that angle of any munition matters.at least in shells, doesnt this count for AP bombs? In that case at what time are they dropped at as close to a 90 degree angle as possible? Is it all RNG? I "feel" it happens when you drop them as soon as possible and I often get them going almost sideways at the end, but maybe its just selective bias. Even on a flat CV surface it feels like they sometimes go through and other times dont. Obviously you want to avoid that big superstructure unless youre worried about overpens. Sometimes I pen people, sometimes I dont. To me AP bombs are like a world of mystery.
